Lou Mae opened up in '78 with one cast-iron skillet and a peach pie recipe. Her grandkids run the place now. The pie hasn't changed.

Brined 24 hours in buttermilk and Lou Mae's pepper blend, dredged three times, fried in the same cast iron she bought in 1978. Two pieces, two sides.

Pearson peaches in summer, Bell's apples in fall. Butter-crust lattice, vanilla bean ice cream melting on top. Tastes like Lou Mae's kitchen smelled.
